A Review of the YTB – Your Travel Business Income Opportunity

March 29th, 2010

YTB is a business that lets you know just that, it’s a business that you will have to work and work hard. They are not afraid to let you know that. But they are also willing to teach you and be your mentor, to help you reach your goals, no matter what they are. They want to work with those that are aware of the kind of commitment and investment it takes to make a business become successful.

They are not looking for those that are looking for the “get rich quick” mentality. They want to build a team of hard working business owners. They are willing to give you what it takes to help you succeed, but only if you are willing to commit to more than just a few months of effort. They want you to know that it will take a few months before you see something from your investment.

YTB is an Internet-based travel booking service for travel agencies and those that work from their home as independent representatives in the US. This is not a service that is in competition with the “professional” travel agents. This is for those who just want to go on the Internet to choose make their travel plans.

There is an extensive amount of training that needs to be done in order to be ready to run this business. You will earn commission on the travels of your family and friends as well as your own. You will not only be rewarded in your travel sales, but when you offer people the sales opportunity to have their own business and become trained in their own travel business.

YTB has a couple of ways to do business. One is to Refer Travel Agent or “RTA” and the other is Independent Marketing Representatives or “REP”. The Travel Agent opportunity has an initial fee of $500 and then you are required to pay a monthly license fee of $49.95. After that, you may choose one of the other programs.

What is the YTB Independent Marketing Rep do? Someone that has signed an Independent Marketing Rep agreement with YTB.com is called a REP. You may sell online Travel Agencies; enroll RTA’s and sponsor other Reps. You will commission on personal online Travel Agency sales. You cannot receive travel credentials and cannot sell travel.

What is a YTB Travel Network Referring Travel Agent? A RTA is someone who has purchased an online Travel Agency in an agreement with UTB Travel Network of Illinois. You pay the $49.95 monthly license fee for your own website. RTA’s refer people to their website (which is their online Travel Agency) to book travel and earn commissions.

From that point is where you will build your Team of REPS. You will have your first complete team when you personally sponsor 3 or more Reps and have 6 active RTAs enrolled that are paying their monthly fee of $49.95. Once this team is complete, you are then qualified to start your PowerTeam. You keep building from there and make your commissions. It can be a great and successful business. It does take some money to get it started and a great commitment as you would with any business venture.

This is why this company is looking for responsible people who are not looking for a get rich quick program. This will take some time to build. While a few do make money, the majority are either off to the next flavor of the week or back to focus on their J.O.B.

Travel a Lot For Business? Don’t Forget a Travel Pillow!

March 16th, 2010

Business travelers that are on the road a lot should always carry their own travel pillow. A good travel pillow can serve many purposes. It can be a pillow, a neck pillow, a back pillow, something to keep the light out of your eyes, and much more.

It’s also a good idea to have your own travel pillow for sanitary reasons. Airlines disinfect their pillows, but there is still a good chance that dust mites or other things could be living inside. I don’t know about you, but that is gross to me. Yuck!

When you have your own cushion that is soft and clean and has not been used by a thousand other people that week, you will be much more relaxed. And, as an added bonus, you will sleep more soundly on your pillow.

When you are buying a travel pillow for yourself or a loved one look for a pillow that has a flexible stuffing, so that it can be reshaped and used as a neck pillow or padding, if need be. It should also have a removable cover that can be taken off and washed. A small pillow should be able to be wadded up and shoved into a pocket or purse because you might not always be able to get to your carry on bag easily to get your pillow.

If you are crafty you can make your travel pillow or make a pillow for someone you love. Choose a soft but easily washable fabric for the cover and put a zipper or a snap on it so you can take the cover off for cleaning. If you want to make the pillow more relaxing, put some fresh herbs like Lavender flowers or some Chamomile or Peppermint in a sachet and tuck that inside the pillow.

When the herbs get stale you can just take that sachet out and put in a new one. Be careful that the herbs you use are not too strong though or the rest of the other people on the plane might object to you using the pillow.

Along with your travel pillow you should also carry a travel blanket. A light travel blanket will make it easier to sleep on the plane and it will give you a little extra warmth on the airplane and in the hotel if you need it. A cashmere shawl or large scarf can do double duty as a light but warm travel blanket that you can easily carry with you.

So, next time you boss sends you off another trip across country, don’t forget your handy dandy travel pillow. Here’s to your rest, so you can have a great meeting.
